The team behind groundupgamesonline
At the moment we're a small team of two people that are responsible for creating these games and also these web pages. Both of us have our strenghts and weaknesses and with a team of two we just pick up and do what is necessary regardless of what we want to do. However, we've naturally attached ourselves to the parts of the projects where we can contribute the most.
Programming: Kobus de Villiers
With his background in programming and knowledge of C#, Kobus has become the lead in creating the code for these games. Years in the software industry has probably failed to adequately prepare him for what he stepped into but he quickly adapted to the new environment and has been a productive member of the team. If you want to read more about his career then please jump ahead...
Art Content: Patrick McCarthy
Patrick is the guru with the mouse and color palette and set about to create the game content that was needed for the games. Early art was created with the minimum of resources but as the team continued to tackle more difficult tasks, the art had to keep pace and slowly more mature graphic tools was needed. To learn about Patrick and his pasion to create fun games, please read more here...
Creativity: Team Effort
The team has definitely stepped up and put brains together to come up with creative game play mechanics and provide familiar games that is still fun to play. This is an area where the sum of the parts is more than the individual contributions on their own. Discussions through forums, email and other means soon grew into a backlog of ideas that will keep the team busy for some time to come.
Is this groundupgamesonline?
Yes, this is the team today that are trying to deliver the next generation of independent games to the Xbox community. It might be difficult to compete with the AAA studios and content from the Xbox arcade, but the goal for the team is to deliver simple games that are fun and easy on the pocket.
